About Waxing and More

Your comfort and satisfaction is of utmost importance. If your question isn't answered here, just ask.

What exactly is a Brazilian Wax?

A Brazilian wax typically removes all of the hair from the pubic region. This means everything from the belly button to the back side. Some people choose to leave a small triangle or "landing strip."

If you aren't quite ready to bare it all, start with a bikini wax. It removes the hair from the bikini line. Still not sure? We can remove as much or little as you'd like.

How bad does it hurt, really?

Discomfort varies from person to person, but the pain is minor compared to the results. Going to a skilled esthetician that understands proper methods for all hair and skin types makes a difference. You can take Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your appointment to reduce sensitivity. The process may seem a little intimidating. Relax. Waxing is my not-so-secret talent.

Can I wax if I am on my period or pregnant?

Yes. You might be more sensitive during mother nature's visit. It is best to plan your wax for right after. If you prefer to reschedule, please give as much notice as possible.

It is safe to wax up until your delivery, just be sure to consult your doctor.

How long does it last?

Typically you will want to schedule a waxing service every 4 to 6 weeks. It takes approximately 4 weeks for the hair to go through growth cycles. If you allow all of your hair to grow for about 2 weeks (1/4 - 1/2 inch) before your first visit, the wax is more likely to grip and remove the hair. You may notice a few "strays" after your first wax. This is normal and with routine waxing you'll notice your hair grows in softer, finer, and results last longer.

Will I be irratated? How long will the irratation last?

It is normal to be red or sensitive for up to 24 hours after a wax, especially after a first time. You may apply hydrocortisone cream or an after care solution provided by your waxing specialist to reduce redness.

If you have never been waxed before and are doing so for an special occasionn, I recommend coming in 4 weeks prior to get the first wax out of the way. If you don't have time for a "trial" wax, allow a 3-4 day "resting" period to assure you won't be uncomfortable for your special event.

Absolutely NO exercising for 24 hours. The sweat and friction may cause irritation, bumps, and even ingrown hairs. Be sure to get your daily workout in before your appointment.

Is there any time I should not wax?

If you are using medicated/prescription skincare, acne medication, antibiotics or steroids you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist before waxing.

If you have a sunburn, open sores, had a recent chemical peel or laser treatment you should post-pone waxing until the skin is completely healed.

What kind of wax do you use?

I use high-quality soft (or strip) wax and hard wax. Because you are like a snowflake, I customize all services for your hair and skin type.

What do I need to do to prepare?

You should have 1/4 inch of hair growth (enough to grip with your finger tips) when you come in for your waxing service. You can trim or leave it. Avoid numbing creams as they don't typically work and can make it harder for the wax to grip the hair. Ibuprofen and a few deep breaths will reduce sensitivity.

Does waxing cause ingrown hair?

No. Waxing removes the entire hair including the root and dull skin cells that can clog the pores. Some people are prone to ingrown hairs just like acne. It is important to keep the skin clean and exfoliate EVERY day to prevent ingrown hairs. You will always provided with proper after care information.

What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly request 24 hour notice for all cancellations. Please call or text as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule your appointment. The sooner you let me know, the sooner I can accommodate a wait list request. No shows will be charged 50% of the service total.
